The Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative is making enormous strides in Africa when it comes to helping the youth of the continent gain the relevant skills and requirements that are needed in the African job market. Ian Merrington, CEO of CiTi said: “South Africa faces an enormous unemployment problem while at the same time the economy is being constrained from growing at its full potential because of a shortage of appropriate skills. This is further exacerbated by a rapid change to our old economic model as the new digital economy becomes pervasive.”
